Attracting Industrial Buyers to Bamboo Resources in Indonesia

After successful launching on the 1000 Bamboo Villages Program in Indonesia, with more than 100 potential bamboo villages area identified the key constraint is to confirm of long term off take agreement that are backed by a stable market that will consistently purchase the bamboo products.  In this session we will hear from three different industrial players with very large bamboo vision and their advises and how Indonesia should approach Indonesia bamboo strategy that’s fits with their vision and criteria. This session will also hold a panel discussion regarding potential industrial groups in Indonesia that could move into the bamboo sector and what enabling factors they would need in order to confidently move into community based bamboo forestry industry.

Objective

Clearing identify enabling factors for international buyers and industrial groups to move into bamboo sector through the 1000 bamboo village mechanism

Expected Results

  1. Fund raising for at least 50 cocoon bamboo nurseries
  2. To facilitate the business planning of several different industrial bamboo interests
  3. To confirm international market absorption potential from Indonesian bamboo species
  4. To identify the key constrains with community based forestry system and discuss potential scale synergy to overcome these constraints
