Ms. Laksmi Dhewanthi

Senior Advisor to the Minister on Industry and International Trade, Ministry of Environment and Forestry

Ms. Laksmi Dhewanthi is a government official with at least 25 years of experience in the field of environment and sustainable development. She is currently assigned as Senior Advisor to the Minister on Industry and International Trade, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of Republic of Indonesia.  Prior to her current position, she has been assigned for various tasks, including Director of Hazardous Waste Management Performance Evaluation, Assistant Deputy Minister for Environmental Data and Information, as well as Assistant Deputy for Environmental Economics where in which she was responsible  to develop of  State of the Environment Report (SOER) and Environmental Quality Index, Environmental Data and Information System, and implementation of various economic instruments for environmental protection and management.  She received a Master degree on Environment and Development Policy at the Sussex University, UK.  In the international fora, since 2003, she has been involving in environmental-related trade and climate change negotiation as well as in sustainable development related talks. She was assigned as a member of CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) Executive Board of UNFCCC, and currently serving as the President of Asia Pacific Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production (APRSCP) and the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) Operational Focal Point in Indonesia.

Dr. Belinda Arunarwati Margono

Deputy Director for MRV and Registry on Land-Based under Directorate GHG Inventory and MRV, Directorate General of Climate Change, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Republic of Indonesia

Dr. Belinda Arunarwati Margono is a Deputy Director for MRV and Registry on Land-Based under Directorate GHG Inventory and MRV, Directorate General of Climate Change, at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of Indonesia. Besides, she is a geospatial scientist, specializes in mapping land use and land cover dynamic. Belinda holds her Bachelor degree in Forestry (Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta, Indonesia), and Master of Science degree in Land Resource and Urban Science (Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands). She earns her PhD in Geographical Science (University of Maryland, USA), works for Global Land Analysis Discovery (GLAD). Belinda is an author for Indonesia’s Forest Reference Emission Level (FREL), as well as a technical supporter for Indonesia’s One-Map Movement. As a complementary to her technical backgrounds, she has a distinguish facilitation skill, with vast experience at national levels (Ministry of Environment and Forestry of Indonesia, National Mapping Agency/BIG, National Institute of Aeronautics and Space/LAPAN, Presidential Work Unit on Overseeing & Controlling Development/ UKP4, Indonesian REDD+ Agency); as well as international levels (CIFOR, former Department of Climate Change/DCC of Australia (MoEF), AUSAID, GIZ (German Technical Cooperation), US Forest Service, USAID, The World Bank, World Resource Institute, WWF, FAO, UN-REDD) and educational institutions (UGM, IPB, ITB, South Dakota State University (SDSU), University of Maryland (UMD), Australian National University (ANU), Wageningen University (WAU)).

Mr. Patrick Cage

Program Officer with the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute, with a special focus on The Carbon Institute and LULUCF sector initiatives.

Through his role as Program Officer at GHGMI, Patrick works primarily with The Carbon Institute to structure international academic partnerships in terrestrial carbon accounting. Patrick is engaged on project management, knowledge management, and curricular development, as well as other aspects of Carbon Institute project implementation. Patrick is currently serving as Director of the Tropical Forest Group, a Carbon Institute founding partner. Under Patrick’s directorship, TFG launched the ParisAgreement.org platform and developed metrics to objectively track the negotiations at COP21 in Paris, which were widely used by the media. Patrick provides secretariat support to the Coalition on Paris Agreement Capacity Building.

Prof. Rizaldi Boer

Executive Director of Center for Climate Risk and Opportunity Management in Southeast Asia and Pacific, Bogor Agricultural University (CCROM SEAP IPB)

Since 2008 when the university established CCROM SEAP, Prof. Boer has been assigned as the director of the center. He also works as senior lecturer at the Department of Geophysics and Meteorology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Bogor Agricultural University. He has been involved in many national and international climate research programs related to adaptation and mitigation. Most of his research activities deal with climatic risk analysis and climate change. He has been involved and has led a number of national and/or regional projects on climate variability and climate change. He has extensive experiences of working on a consultancy project with international organizations such as GIZ (German Technical Cooperation), Asian Development Bank (ADB), ADPC (Asian Disaster Preparedness Center), APN (Asia Pacific Network for Global Change Research), GEF – UNEP and International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI). In addition, he is assigned by WMO as chairperson for RA V Working Group on Agricultural Meteorology and assigned by UNFCCC as a lead reviewer of GHG inventory of Annex 1 countries. He is frequently invited as a speaker on climate variability and climate change and instructor in a number of training activities related to climate. Prof. Boer is also a teaching staff at Department of Geophysics and Meteorology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Bogor Agriculture University since 1987. He has supervised more than 30 postgraduate students (Master and PhD) and more than 50 undergraduate students.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Yonny Koesmaryono

Vice Rector for Academic and Students Affairs at Bogor Agricultural University (Institut Pertanian Bogor)

Prof. Yonny is an expert in the field Biometeorology. His focus on the field of Pest and Plant Diseases, Microclimatology, and Agro climatology. He has been involved in research with the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN), LIPI, and IC-SEA. He completed his Bachelor and Masters in Bogor Agricultural University Studies in the Program of Agro climatology and received his doctorate in 1996 from Ehime University of Japan for the Study Program of Agro meteorology. Since 2008 until recently, he served as Vice Rector for Academic and Students Affairs at Bogor Agricultural University.
