Indonesia’s biggest challenge is to ensure access of basic needs for all; including access to energy. Consists of more than 13.000 inhabited islands, Indonesia has to provide energy across the nation, powering more than 250 million of people. This session will discuss government commitment toward the achievement of the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in renewable energy, and supports from the private sectors particularly in Geothermal Energy by MEDCO and Biofuel by APROBI (Asosiasi Produsen Biofuel Indonesia). Furthermore, in this session, the International Energy Agency (IEA) will also explore about Energy Technology Perspectives 2017: Catalysing Energy Technology Transformations.
In general, from this session, we will explore how to conserve and reduce wasteful energy consumption and energy expenditure, and also very important to consider affordable choices of renewable energy, particularly for low-income community.
