According to the United Nations Environment Programme, 2.1 billion tons of domestic solid waste were generated worldwide in 2023. In Indonesia alone, 35.52 million tons of domestic solid waste were produced during the same year. When waste is poorly managed, it leads to pollution, public health risks, and significant greenhouse gas emissions, particularly methane, which is 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide. As the global population continues to grow and urbanize, the challenge of managing waste becomes increasingly urgent. Tackling this issue is crucial for mitigating climate change and achieving the broader goal of zero emissions.
As the impacts of climate change become more evident, the need for comprehensive and collaborative climate actions is increasingly critical. The talk show, “Towards Zero Waste and Zero Emission: Collaborative Strategies for Effective Climate Action,” aims to address these pressing challenges by focusing on innovative solutions in waste management and emission reduction. This event will explore how multi-stakeholder collaboration can drive meaningful progress in achieving zero waste and zero emission goals.
Our key objectives for this talk show are to facilitate dialogue among diverse stakeholders, including government representatives, industry leaders, and waste management experts to share insights, strategies, and experiences that can inform and inspire effective climate action; highlight innovative practices and case studies that demonstrate the potential for achieving zero waste and zero emission outcomes; and identify collaborative pathways that can drive systemic change and encourage partnerships across sectors.
Our target audience includes high-level government officials, policymakers, representatives from non-governmental organizations, industry professional, and sustainability professionals. The event will also attract researchers and academics who are focused on advancing renewable energy technologies and waste management strategies. Additionally, the talk show is open to delegates and attendees of the conference who have a vested interest in clean energy solutions and climate action.
The talk show will be structured as an engaging panel discussion with presentations. Each speaker will have 10 minutes to share their insights and experiences, followed by a moderated discussion designed to stimulate interaction and debate among the panelists and the audience. The session will conclude with an open Q&A, allowing attendees to engage directly with the experts and explore the topics further.
