Recently, the Minister of Environment and Forestry of Indonesia (MOEF) and the Minister of Environment of Japan (MOEJ) signed the “Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) on the Joint Crediting Mechanism between Japan and the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian Greenhouse Gases Emission Reduction Certification” as a bilateral cooperation of both governments consistent with the guidance of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. This MRA is the follow up of bilateral meeting between Indonesian Vice Minister for Environment and Forestry, Dr. Alue Dohong, and the Vice-Minister for Global Environmental Affairs, Ministry of Environment, Japan, Mr. Yutaka Matsuzawa, on 18-19 September 2024 in Tokyo. The achievement in the bilateral cooperation to facilitate carbon market within two countries need to be world widely published. One of showcases that can be used to disseminate the works that have been taken by Indonesia and Japan as well as the result of the works is the COP29 UNFCCC in Baku. Thus, a session in the Indonesian Pavilion is considered an important stage to publicise the achievement between two countries. The output of the session will be lessons learnt about how an MRA between two countries in implementing Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement can be developed. The talk show will be divided into two segments comprising: (1) High-Level Dialogue; and (2) Technical Dialogue. The High-Level Dialogue will be involving: (1) Welcoming remarks (5’); (2) Presentations/Speeches (20’); and (3) Q&A (10’).
