About

A. Background

Indonesia’s pathway toward Net Zero Emissions by 2060 or sooner requires not only strong government leadership but also decisive action from the private sector. Corporate actors across energy, electricity, forestry, and finance are uniquely positioned to drive transformational change through innovation, investment, and high-integrity carbon market participation.

This CEO Talks session brings together four of Indonesia’s most influential corporate leaders to showcase how the private sector is accelerating decarbonization and advancing carbon finance within both compliance and voluntary carbon markets.

  1. Pertamina will highlight innovations in Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), alongside large-scale biofuel and hydrogen programs, as pathways to decarbonize the energy industry and generate verifiable carbon credits.
  2. PLN will present its Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) strategy, renewable energy integration, and carbon trading readiness in the power sector.
  3. APP Group will showcase its commitment to nature-based solutions, including peatland and mangrove restoration, as well as forest conservation projects that generate high-quality carbon credits.
  4. Bank Mandiri will highlight the role of financial institutions in enabling carbon markets, from green bonds, transition finance, and blended finance instruments, to supporting mutual recognition frameworks that enhance Indonesia’s credibility in global markets.

Together, these corporate leaders will demonstrate that Indonesia’s private sector is not only reducing emissions and generating credible offsets but is also building financial and institutional frameworks to ensure Indonesia plays a leading role in the international carbon market.
